Position Summary:
An exciting opportunity is available for a biostatistician to join a small but growing group focused on cancer clinical trials and related translational research. CRAB, located in downtown Seattle, is responsible for the design, management and analysis of a variety of phase I, phase II and phase III cancer clinical trials, as well as the analysis of associated laboratory data, including microarray, SNP, and proteomics data.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently acts as lead Biostatistician of clinical trials and research projects
- Designs clinical trials in collaboration with collaborating staff. Helps with endpoint selections, performs sample size/power calculations
- Plans, initiates and carries out applied research in collaboration with CRAB’s program managers and applications development and data management groups to submit detailed timelines to clients
- Develops statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and analyzes clinical trials data and associated ancillary studies in collaboration with other scientists based on the SAP
- Prepares tables, figures, and written summaries of study results based on SAP; interprets results in collaboration with other scientists
- Plays a significant role in preparation of manuscripts, may include lead authorship
- Serves as key Biostatistician in planning and preparation of regulatory submissions as required
- May serve as co-investigator on research projects and present results at conferences
- Provide training/mentoring to other, more junior Biostatisticians
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field
- 10 years of relevant Biostatistical consulting experience post degree
- 6 years in pharmaceutical clinical trial experience
- Sound knowledge of applied statistics
- Proficiency in statistical computing in SAS
- Travel required
Preferred Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
- Proficiency in S-Plus or R programming language
- Excellent interpersonal/teamwork skills for effective collaborations
- Spanish language skills a plus
This is a full-time position, and it is exempt from state and federal overtime regulations.
Employment authorization is required.
Travel/relocation expenses will not be provided for this position.
