Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help conquer cancer and other diseases through the application of biostatistical principles and data management methods.
Position Summary:
The Project Management Office (PMO) Director is responsible for directing and managing the strategic goals, plans and initiatives of project management operations while providing expertise and leadership in all departments whose resource are needed for PMO projects. The PMO Director will have overall responsibilities of directing the activities of the department; training, supervision and guidance of program and project managers, strategic planning and resource allocation of the PMO unit and all resources needed to meet project requirements. This position will report to the CEO.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor the PMO’s program goals, processes and objectives to successfully and efficiently complete all managed projects in a matrix structure across the CRAB organization
- In tandem with Business Development target new clients, businesses and alliances to achieve business goals
- Implement and oversee PMO’s strategic goals and partnerships in alignment with CRAB’s mission
- In tandem with Administration responsible for budgets, proposals and contracts for new business
- In tandem with Data Management and the Biostatistics Department ensure all clinical trial protocols cover relevant issues clearly and accurately
- Propose policies and procedures for new project evaluations, implementation and tracking to efficiently meet the goals of CRAB
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction for project management of CRAB projects
- Develop and direct the scope of projects identifying staffing needs and other resource allocations
- Direct and support CRAB’s PMO staff, statisticians, programmers, site monitors, data managers, accounting manager, Officers, etc. as well as external business partners in the successful execution of project management
- Coordinate communication of project status and timelines across all departments affected by each research project
- In tandem with Finance track projects according to budget to evaluate progress, outcomes and proceeds
- Collaborate with clinical research investigators, study sponsors and clinical site staff to ensure successful launch and completion of research initiatives
- Travel is required
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Project Management, Business Administration, or related area
- 10 years in Project Management or related leadership experience
- 5 years clinical trials experience
- 5 years private industry experience
- Operational knowledge of laws and regulations governing clinical research
Desired Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- 5 years strategic and business experience in Life Science Field
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Experience documenting business requirements
- Proven ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy while interacting with staff
- Excellent interpersonal/teamwork skills for effective collaboration
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proven experience in statistical trial design related to oncology clinical trials
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
- Spanish language skills a plus
This is a full-time position and is Exempt from state and federal overtime regulations.
