CRAB Provides electronic data capture (EDC) and Statistical Efforts to Support Lung Cancer Staging

CRAB has been an integral collaborator with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) since the late 1990s, and will continue this partnership through at least 2024. Under the leadership of IASLC, CRAB has gathered and analyzed data on over 200,000 lung cancer cases and conducted sophisticated analyses of the data, culminating in the 7th and 8th editions of the lung cancer tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) staging classification, adopted by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC). We are now at work on the 9th edition, which will be based on a new EDC system and include biomarker data. CRAB is also the statistical center for staging in malignant pleural mesothelioma and thymic malignancies.
